Specialist 1-1 study skills support

Jane has 30 years’ experience in teaching, tutoring and 1-1 support for students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, AD(H)D and autism/Asperger’s Syndrome.

She also has an in-depth understanding of ME/CFS, POTS, and the impact of chronic physical or mental health conditions on study. Her particular interest is in supporting high-need students, especially those with mixed profiles including speech and language difficulties, mental health issues and autistic spectrum profiles.

She is experienced in supporting PhD and Masters as well as undergraduate students, with subject expertise spanning Nursing and Health Professions, Education, Archaeology, Art, Anthropology and the Humanities.

Holding specialist qualifications in the assessment and identification of SpLDs, Jane regularly undertakes professional training, including on autism and university-level support.

Sessions are fully individualised, enabling students to develop effective strategies and study skills that remove barriers to learning, maximise academic potential and enhance the overall learning experience.

Where does support take place?

Support is available face-to-face on Campus, at Jane’s office near Lymington, Hampshire or remotely. Students often prefer a hybrid approach – face-to-face and online.
